IS PSYCHOTHERAPY WORTHABLE ?

The answer is yes, but the reality sometimes make you say no! Did you think why? For that I am giving you a short note on how psychotherapist work in our country.90 percent of the psychotherapist’s just talk to you like a friend who does not think your character as bad even if you swear them. They just ask your problems and gives you an advice. Mostly they do not know the difference between therapy and advice. They are just advising with a name board as psychotherapist. Next to another category, here they are top psychotherapist’s, they know how to apply therapies like CBT, DBT, IPT, etc on patients. These therapies include exercises with homework, changing the way of perception of particular matter which harms the patient,etc. These therapies are moulded by psychotherapist’s according to the patient’s necessity and condition. But their too exist a problem. That is understanding.

THE REAL TRAGEDY

As I said, to mould the therapy, the psychotherapist needs to understand each and every point of a person’s problem.in psychotherapy understanding the core factor is the toughest task. Here is the problem arises. Understanding problem occurs in different cases, for example in order to reduce work load some psychotherapist sort similar problems in a certain category and produces same solution for that categorised people. But this is completely a failure concept.in some cases the patient cannot able to express their problem refinery to the psychotherapist. This may be due to shyness or unavailability of proper word to describe the problem. I too heard about many cases started therapy with proper understanding and failed in some point due to the unawareness of therapist in patient’s ongoing problem. Improper understanding is biggest risk as it may develop a conflict between therapist and patient. I am not arguing that all psychotherapist misunderstands. But the success rate is low in our country. Then you may ask what is the perfect solution…it’s called “Self-help”.

WHAT IS SELF HELP?

Many people confuse self-help and self-medication as the same thing. The truth is they are entirely different. People might think searching internet by typing your symptoms to find the disease is called self-help called self-medication.it is always dangerous. Self-help is the method to motivate yourself and finding the solution to the problems on your own.it can be done only through practice.

POWER WITHIN YOU

You might hear about many Self-help books. Buy a popular one like Joseph Murphy’s ‘THE POWER OF YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND’ Read those books, note down the therapies and solutions given by them. Now mould it according to your needs and trusty practice it regularly. Because the proper moulding can do only by you. You only know what is your exact problem in all depth. Moreover, many self-help books are written by sufferers too. Here the only issue is trust. This trust issue is not about the author, it’s about your “Self”. Many people experience physical pain due to mental illness and many people consider physical pain as mental illness. Which is truth? Your psychotherapist always considers your physical pains as a part of your mental illness. But it is not necessary to be true all the time. You can’t judge a therapist as he realised a real health problem as a mental illness, because he is not “you”. You are the only one who can fragment your problems in different categories.so apply the therapies whenever there is a need without any dependence. I am just providing a simple exercise to handle the loss.

SUBJECT: You lose 10000 Rs and you are in a mental pain for that loss.

METHOD: Just close your eyes and have a deep breath. You are already in a pain for 10000 Rs. Now imagine you lost 20000 Rs or all your money you have. Now feel the intense pain (double of the pain you have first) for next 2 minutes. Now gradually realize that you lost only 10000 Rs. Your loss is very lesser than you think. Now your pain suddenly drops. Repeat this many times.by this way you, yourself estimating that your loss is very low in order to reduce pain if you repeatedly thinking that your problem is very small, then your mind will not accept it. So, you need to indirectly proves it.

OUT OF CONTROL

Many people had reported that their mind is not in their control. What’s this big deal? In a healthy human, the “Self”, that means the consciousness, controls the mind. If the self says, don’t think about it, then the mind stops thinking. Due to some error in mind, the mind gets out of the control of self. Being unnotified, the self will get into the control of mind. It’s a pathetic condition. On that occasion there will be a dynamic mood change occurs.so the mind refuses to carry forward with therapist’s way as the patient falls in an illusionary state.in such cases the patient must be knowledgeable about what mechanism running inside them, how his neurological pattern works. Then he has to indulge in therapies which is acceptable by their mind by at least 1 percent. Take Self-help ideas into concern even you are in a therapy. Stop taking therapy if there is no mutual understanding between you and the therapist, because it’s just a waste of time. And finally, you all had a doubt, that what happens to person ‘B’. I forgot to tell you that person ‘B’ died in several months due to Cardiac Arrest….
